How to pick the right name
Choose between fire and flame
Some names mean fire itself (Aodh, Agni, Azar), others a single flame (Fiamma, Alev, Lasair) or a spark (Kıvılcım, Inar). The smaller the fire, the softer the name tends to feel.
Use the Irish fire family
Aidan, Aodhán, Keegan and Aodhnait all grow from Aodh, fire. They make natural sibling names, and Aodh itself is short and strong as a middle name.
Check what a name really means
Several popular fire names have a shaky link. Ignatius only looks like Latin ignis, and Blaze began as a form of Blaise. Every name here has a documented link to fire, and where scholars are unsure, the note says possibly.
