Privacy policy

Nomezo is built so you can use it without an account and without telling us anything about yourself.
Favorites and settings
Names you save, with your star ratings, notes, surname for comparisons and any votes you add, are stored in your own browser (local storage). They are not sent to us. Clearing your browser data removes them.
Sharing and voting links
When you share a list or ask others to vote, the names (and the name you type, if any) travel inside the link itself. Anyone with the link can see them, so share it only with people you choose. We do not store these lists.
Generators and search
Quick mode on every generator, and the search, run in your browser. What you type there is not stored by us. The name rarity checker downloads small data files named after the first letters of the name you check; the full name is not sent to us.
Custom mode and the AI name generator
If you use Custom mode on a generator or the AI name generator, the options you choose and the details you type are sent to OpenRouter and the AI model provider it routes to, so they can create your name ideas. We do not store them or link them to you; OpenRouter and the model provider handle them under their own privacy policies, which may include keeping logs. Do not type personal information such as full names, addresses or ages.
Domain and artist checks
When you click to check a domain, your browser asks the public registry for that ending (for example Verisign for .com) whether a registration record exists. The registry receives the domain you are checking and your connection details, as with any website. Results are kept in your browser for a day.
When you click to search artists on the band name generator, your browser sends the band name to MusicBrainz, the open music database, which receives it and your connection details as with any website. We do not see or keep the search.
Image cards
Image cards are drawn on your own device. Nothing is uploaded unless you choose to share the image yourself.
Listen button
The Listen button on name pages uses your own device's built-in voice. Nothing is sent to us or to anyone else.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to count page views and understand which pages and tools are useful. It sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) and collects information such as the pages you visit, your browser and device type, and your approximate location. Google says Analytics does not log or store IP addresses. We look at these reports only in aggregate, to improve the site.
Google processes this data under the Google Privacy Policy (see also how Google uses data from sites that use its services). You can block these cookies in your browser settings or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Advertising
We may show ads to keep the site free. Advertising partners may use cookies to show relevant ads and measure them. Where the law requires it, we will ask for your consent first and you can change your choice at any time.
