How the gamertag generator works
Each gamertag comes from a template plus a short word bank. Some templates join two words in camel case (SilentScope, Stormweaver), some add a gamer prefix or suffix (iKryptic, FlickzClips, ReaperActual) and some add a number. The generator picks a template at random and fills it from hand-written lists.
The style menu changes the lists. Sweaty uses stylized words with swapped letters like Lxgend and Mxrcy plus prefixes such as i, ii and TTV. Funny pairs a gamer word with something silly. FPS uses military call signs and ranks, Fantasy builds RPG titles like Hexblade, and Short keeps tags to a few letters for platforms with tight limits.
Type your name or nickname in the keyword box to blend it into many tags, like TTVMaya or SgtMaya. Your keyword is used exactly as typed, so start it with a capital letter for clean camel case. We cannot check whether a tag is free on Xbox, PlayStation or Steam, so search for it before you change your name.
Each card shows which platforms accept the tag as it is. To test a name of your own, use the gamertag checker below: it explains why a tag fails on a platform, suggests the closest version that fits, and gives one form that works on all seven.
That is Quick mode: instant and unlimited. For something more specific, switch to Custom mode, set a few options and add a sentence of details. An AI language model suggests 10 original names, each with the idea behind it, and More like this gives you variations on any name you like.

Tips for choosing a good name
Say it out loud in voice chat
Your squad will shout your tag mid-match. If it takes more than a couple of seconds to say, shorten it.
Check the length limit
Unique Xbox gamertags can now have 15 characters (12 if Xbox adds a number suffix) and PlayStation online IDs 16. Twelve or fewer fits every platform, and the Short style keeps you well under.
Capitalize each word
Camel case like ShadowReaper is easier to read than shadowreaper. Type your keyword with a capital letter so it matches.
Keep it clean for every lobby
Platforms can reset or ban offensive tags. A clean tag also works for streaming, tournaments and playing with family.
Use one tag everywhere
Claim the same name on Xbox, PlayStation, Steam, Discord and Twitch so friends and viewers can find you.
